The Swarthy Pirate

I was in Atlanta this weekend and my friends took me to a Pug/French Bulldog Bastille Day Festival. It was pretty darn glorious. All these little dogs parading around in costumes with their scrunched up faces. Suffice to say I was beyond happy.

Sometimes I really question whether I should give up working in the “real world” and find some way to work with animals instead. Maybe it was growing up on a farm; maybe it was having so many amazing pets in my youth; or maybe I just adore the unconditional love that animals give us (without judgment and always for free). But I feel so calm and happy in their presence, so whatever the reason is, I am glad to have furry friends in my life.

My Weekend with Smudgalyn

I spent a glorious weekend dogsitting my friend’s corgi puppy, Smudge, and celebrating my 10-year friendiversary with my BFF Emma. It was sunny and perfectly warm, full of laughter and good food, and just plain awesome. I’m lucky that I have such special people in my life – and that my neighbors have such a lovely pup!

This picture just really cracks me up. Smudge loves a good massage!
