I knew there was a good reason why I’ve loved Cobain since adolescence – and not only because I’m a native of his home state, Washington (aka Grunge Mecca). What an astoundingly brave thing for a rock star in the 90’s to say. I don’t think that there are many artists out there TODAY who would risk alienating some of their fans by making such a bold statement.
Kurt, you are missed.
Source: I found this Cobain quote (originally from the liner notes in Nirvana’s album Incestide) on Upworthy in a short piece from Rebecca Eisenberg (she’s fantastic – check her out).
That is awesome, I never knew he said that. I grew up listening to Nirvana.
Glad I found this post and read the quote. I can’t believe it has been 19 years since he died. I was absolutely stunned when I heard the news. 19 years later, it is still so sad to think of what more could have come. He is dearly missed.
